saw mils

Introducing…. Nalu mills

In addition to our wood and metal shop, we are pleased to announce the addition of our new Nalu Mills division to support our efforts to locally source, process, build and share quality wood products on Hawai’i island. Focusing on “storm wood,” safety, and salvage removals, we strive to keep Hawai’i timber out of green waste. Utilizing these woods properly, we can sequester carbon while making functional art and furniture from favorite local woods. We now have three mills up and running at our shop and tree farm in Mountain View on the east of Hawai’i Island.

the beast

Our Mobile Dimensions 129 is one of the most versatile saw mills ever built with over 6000 units working all around the world. This unit is the largest (dual) circular sawmill they manufacture and one of the largest on Hawai’i. We can mill logs as big as 6’+ in diameter and over 12’ long into dimensional lumber as small as 1’x2” on up to 6’x10” posts, and still have enough left over for a natural edge slab. Powered by an 1835cc VW engine this sawmill is big, fast, loud and efficient. This is why we call it THE BEAST.

got wood?

We grow, harvest, buy, mill, air & kiln dry and sell sustainably sourced local woods for specialty builds island wide. Let us know if we can help with your next commercial or residential project. Custom orders welcome!

big blue

Our L-S 2000 out of Oregon is big too. BIG BLUE can split just about any size log into slabs. Utilizing a specialty built 9 1/2’ chain saw bar this guy can mill up slabs, quarter sawn lumber and cookie rounds (at any thickness) just like butter. Need a 4”x6’x1o’ slab table? Can do.

we love cookies

Mango, Lychee, Chocolate Albizia, Monkey Pod… we love making rounds for coffee and dining tables. Order one today!

PLANT MORE TREES!

As the saying goes… the best time to plant a tree was twenty years ago. The second best time is now. So we have planted over 1500 fruit and hardwood trees in the last two years on our 16 acre tree farm and nursery here in Mountain View. And we are just getting started…
